What is computer and what are the main types of computer memory

Define computer?

Answer. A computer is defined as an electronic device that accepts input, processes it, as per the given instruction and produce output. The term computer is used to describe a device which is combination of electronic and electromechanical devices.

Define data and information

Data refers to facts that are gathered and fed to the computer. A computer stores, retrieves then receives analysis and synthesis data to produce information. A computer organizes data from many sources and turns it into information that can be applied in making decisions and solving problems.

What is computer memory? Define types of computer memory?

Answer) computer memory stores program and process data or data to process by the program. The smallest unit of data which can be stored in memory is one bit. A group of 8 bits form one byte.
Types of computer memory: there are two type of computer memory
Primary and secondary
a. Primary memory: this is also known as main memory. Main memory is also called RAM. Three contents of R A M are volatile and may get erase when there is a power shutdown.
b. Secondary memory: this is used to store large amount of data. It stores the data permanently even if the power is switched off.
What is digital computer?
A digital computer is a computer whose functions depends on the binary digit 0’s & 1’s.

What is analogue computer?

In analogue computer the signals are established in the form of comparison between current and voltage.

What is hybrid computer?

Hybrid computer are the combination of digital and analogue signal. Space, research and satellite use hybrid computer.
